2023 | Top 30 Expected Models: Cars & Sports Cars – 98.5 Montreal

Auto123 takes out its crystal ball and presents 30 of the most noteworthy models coming to us in 2022-2023. Cars today!

As the automotive industry never stops, here is once again our list of the most anticipated vehicles in the next few months and/or years. Traditionally, since we started this exercise, we have divided vehicles into three main categories: cars, sports cars, trucks, and electric vehicles.

Note that with the resurgence of electric models, it is possible that next year we will have to change this list. In this first part, we drive around cars and, above all, sports cars that still manage to surprise us with their above-average levels of adrenaline. Give way to cars!

2023 Acura Integra

2023 Acura Integra

It was written in the sky that the ILX sedan was retiring, especially in this category of affordable luxury sedans that the Acura rep just couldn’t keep up with.

To strike a blow, Acura has decided to bring the Integra name back into its range. The sedan will be based on the same platform as the current Honda Civic, but with a tailgate and, of course, turbocharged mechanics under the hood … and even a manual transmission!

Since the electric vehicle segment is on the rise, we decided to place it in the automotive niche. The Audi A6 is a sedan. On the other hand, this new chapter of the intermediate sedan will be as electrified as possible.

The manufacturer’s four-ring strategy is not yet known, and it’s safe to say that the petrol A6 will also be sold, but you can already count on a purely electric variant of the great German lady.

BMW M2 2023

Ever since the new 2 Series hit our roads, all eyes have been on the M division, which has been hard at work creating a car that’s even more advanced than its predecessor. The outgoing coupe certainly didn’t disappoint with the Competition livery and even the CS version, but with the sportiness of the M240i xDrive, we can already expect a grand replacement for the M2.

Chevrolet Corvette Z06… and that’s not all!

2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

The bow tie maker has already provided details on this Corvette Z06, including a new naturally aspirated 670-horsepower 5.5-liter V8 engine, while the dual-clutch unit continues its journey in this more extreme coloration.

But that’s not all, because Chevrolet is already working on the rest of the story, probably an electrified version of the Vetta.

2022 Honda Civic Type R

We can say that the manufacturer Honda has successfully redesigned its popular Civic. It’s true that SUVs are taking up more and more space, but you shouldn’t rule out a top-notch vehicle like the Civic.

With the sedan, hatchback and Si sedan already among us, only the new Type R is missing, and Honda has already revealed a small preview of the second Type R coming to North America.

2023 Lotus Emira

2023 Lotus Emira

It is quite rare to see a Lotus on the road. The cars of the British division are designed for pure driving enthusiasts and, let’s say, these English beauties are not cheap. But hey, when a new model appears on the horizon, we should talk about it.

The new Emira will have a dual mandate: it will replace the Elise/Exige tandem and the more comfortable Evora. That’s why the Emira will be available with a 4-cylinder and V6 engine. It promises!

Mazda6 2023

Mazda6 (2021)

Mazda6 has not been offered in Canada for several months, and we are already dreaming of its return, if, of course, the top management intends to return it to the fold of the brand. This is because, as you can see, the next 6 will now be aimed at a slightly more mature audience, an audience that is primarily looking for prestige and sporty driving, in particular through the use of a 6-cylinder inline engine.

Mazda6 upgrades may seem out of place in an industry that is moving all-electric, but let’s not forget that it will be at least another ten years before gas-powered cars really give way to electrics.

Mercedes-AMG C 63 2023

Mercedes-AMG C 63 coupe (2022)

The AMG crest has a lot of followers in the country, the brand from Stuttgart, which no longer hesitates, brings to Canada as many models as possible with three letter tattoos. But since all good things come to an end, it’s time to say goodbye to the V8 engine under the hood of the mythical C 63, a sedan (also available as a coupe) that rivals the BMW M3/M4 and Audi RS5 from this world.

Indeed, the manufacturer is already working on a new generation of the car, the latest of which will be equipped with a 4-cylinder turbo engine even more powerful than the old V8.

2023 Nissan Z

2023 Nissan Z

We’ve been talking about this new Z for a while. For a while, we thought it was a Nissan 400Z, a figure related to the power of the new 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine, the same one we find aboard the Infiniti Q50 RedSport. but the manufacturer decided: it will be Nissan Z.

Moreover, pay attention to those interested, the first year of the release of the model will be quite limited in terms of the number of copies. On the other hand, we are already looking forward to trying it out. After all, even the 370Z was a pretty fun sports car, despite some flaws.

2023 Toyota Corolla GR

Toyota Corolla GR Sport

Sports Toyota Corolla, anyone? Forget the name Sport, S or even APEX, the 21st century Corolla has nothing to do with the Corolla GT-S of the 80s and 90s, enthusiasts have been talking about the version prepared by the Gazoo Racing division for several months. There will indeed be a GR Corolla in development, a sporty livery that will even be powered by the 3-cylinder turbo engine found under the hood of the GT Yaris in Europe. Promises here too!
