Strengthening the sanitary protocol in primary schools, opening of new vaccination centers, places for persons over 65 years of age, vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 years at risk of developing a severe form is possible from December 15, 2021, closure of nightclubs, extension of remote work in companies and administrations… During a press conference on December 6, 2021, the Prime Minister and Minister of Health announced new health measures to combat the accelerationas well as wave of Covid-19 epidemic.

Strengthening the sanitary protocol in primary schools

Primary school health protocol moves to level 3. From December 9, 2021, wearing a mask also becomes mandatory outdoors (on playgrounds) for all students and staff. Starting December 13th, level and class shuffling will be limited during cooldown to 1uh degree. Disinfection of surfaces that are most often touched will be carried out several times a day, tables in the refectory – if possible after each meal.

Physical and sports activities are allowed both outdoors and indoors, but only for low-intensity activities that are compatible with mask wearing and distancing rules. Indoor contact sports are prohibited.

On the other hand, colleges and high schools always use level 2 of the health protocol, with the exception of Guyana, where level 4 of the protocol remains.


The Covid-19 vaccination campaign will be intensified, new vaccination centers will open in December and new locations will be offered for revaccination.

People over 65 years of age should have access to booster vaccinations at any center without an appointment.

Vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 years at risk of developing severe Covid will be open from December 15 upon receipt of 1era childhood doses of the vaccine.

If approved by the Higher Health Authority (HAS), the vaccination campaign for all children between the ages of 5 and 11 could start around December 20, the health minister said.


Companies are encouraged to establish 2-3 days of remote work per week whenever possible. It is also recommended to limit in-person meetings.

In the civil service, administrations will be able to establish up to 3 days of remote work per week.

Meetings such as seminars, farewell parties, holiday reunions at the end of the year will have to be postponed.


From December 10, 2021, nightclubs will be closed for 4 weeks. The state will provide economic assistance to companies affected by this closure.

It is recommended to limit festive events in the private sphere, until the celebration of the end of the year.

For outdoor activities and events such as Christmas markets, the sanitary protocol will be strengthened, food consumption will be strictly regulated under the supervision of the prefects.
