DUBAI, 2nd March, 2022 (WAM) — Today marks the start of the 7th National Day of Sports events with participation from all walks of life under the slogan “UAE unites us”.
National Sports Day is organized in response to the call of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to define a sports day in which all sports, exercise and heritage will be enjoyed. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the National Olympic Committee, Chairman of the Supreme Committee at the initiative of the National Sports Day, called on all sectors of society, institutions and organizations to organize various activities and put into practice the concepts of friendship, cooperation and brotherhood, which are one of key principles of the Olympic movement.

The walking event culminates in the Sports and Wellness Center, where, in addition to various physical activities, there will be 33 different sports activities, including football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, women’s yoga and cycling.
On the fields of these events, sports demonstrations in fencing, taekwondo, karate and bodybuilding will be organized, which will diversify the activities and present the original version of the National Sports Day.
National Sports Day Initiative Executive Team Leader Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qassimi discussed various preparations during the latest meeting of the National Sports Day Initiative Executive Working Group in the presence of Azza bint Suleiman, Under-Secretary General for Administration and Finance National Olympic Committee and members of the working group.
