Montpellier. Sports: minibus, armory and synthetic turf

City of Montpellier as well as Montpellier Mediterranean metropolis continue your commitment sport for everyone. Following the renovation of football fields and the creation of paddle tennis courts last week at the Grammont site, minibus was granted Silver Cross Basketball Club as well as armory renovation from Gymnasium Pitot was opened. The equipment was met with satisfaction by the licensees.

Sports and computer equipment

The €57,690 minibus entrusted to the Basket Croix d’Argent club of Mas-Drevon is the result of the first competition of urban projects dedicated to investments in favor of sports associations for sport equipment or Hardware. The goal is to make clubs’ day-to-day life easier through unparalleled and exceptional local assistance. Thus, the municipality undertakes to reimburse 70% of the investments made.

Armory of the Pito Gymnasium, Arso district, with a total area of ​​1283 m2.2 and adjoining the adjacent Pitot Pool is provided to the MUC Fencing with 200 members. Metropole Montpellier has invested 60,000 euros in this equipment for locker room renovation in 2020 and €300,000 for the armory in 2021, including false ceiling repairs, lighting, wall painting, floor and sports equipment repairs (caterpillars and key equipment), as well as a sound system. With these 20 federal standard tracksMUC Fencing now enjoys one of the highest quality facilities in France designated as the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Preparation Center in Paris.

New synthetic turf

After La Croix d’Argent and Pitot, head to the western cities to discover new synthetic turf for football stadiums “Rashid Malla”, in the Cevennes and “Astruc”. Eventually, all football fields will be artificial turf to make training easier in all weather conditions, as well as easier and more cost-effective maintenance.

The selected artificial turf was designed from plant material, cork, with a 40mm high synthetic fiber and a 20mm flex layer. Total cost of converting operations on land named Grammont n°9, Rachid Malla, Astruc and Bernard Giambrone to synthetic mode: €1.6 million. Cité Astruc, avenue de Lodève, residents and players who frequent the football field condemn the behavior of young people who come inhale laughing gas and who throw nitrous oxide canisters and balloons into the grass.
