TAG Heuer Team Test: WorldTempus connects to the new TAG Heuer Caliber E4 Team Test WorldTempus

I have been following the adventures of TAG Heuer Connected since the first major press conference at Baselworld in 2015 and the improvements made since then are truly impressive. This fourth generation of TAG Heuer smartwatches – Caliber E4 – is the most interesting for me to date, as now I can actually wear it! Previous versions were bigger, sportier and more imposing at 45mm (there’s a new 45mm version as well), but this new 42mm version looks great even on my ridiculously thin wrist. It can be said that the 42mm size is still relatively large, but TAG Heuer has worked on the design to make it particularly ergonomic. They also made sure the sapphire glass screen was tilted over the bezel for maximum visibility, because what’s the point of having a small watch if you can’t read the information? So what do I like about this watch? There is a wide range of watch faces to choose from, ranging from sporty chronograph designs to color-changing artwork. The watch face backlight also stays on, avoiding the dreaded black screen when the watch is idle.

In addition, there are all sports features with steps, heart rate monitor, calories, etc., as well as new 7-minute high-intensity workouts with animations and notifications. I was a little skeptical at first, but it’s a lot of fun and it’s something you can do in your hotel room when you travel, which happens to me when my fitness plan tends to go downhill. I would have liked to have kept the watch a little longer to study all its functions in detail, but for now I can say without hesitation that I approve of the TAG Heuer Caliber E4!

Return of Connected! I say this because I already tested it in 2020. What surprised me the most about this new version was how quickly I synced it to my phone. With the release of 2020 it took me a while (I must have been wrong too), however on this new model I completed the sync in just 2 minutes! It may seem silly, you will tell me, but of course I was extremely surprised.

Very light and very comfortable to wear thanks to a wrist-shaped rubber strap, the TAG Heuer Connected Caliber E4 watch now has 30% more battery power, allowing you to work all day, including 1 hour of racing. The many TAG Connected sports apps are a real plus. It’s perfect for people who lead a lifestyle like mine. Cherry on the cake: this new version with a new 42mm diameter will appeal to even the smallest of wrists. Needless to say, I am now the happiest of men!

“Sport is health! That credo could be TAG Heuer’s credo with their new Connected watch. Clearly positioned in the sports and health niche, TAG Heuer Connected watches will follow you at their own pace. Despite a slightly long grip, I’m already hear foul language… he didn’t understand the old man… It’s not necessarily wrong… In any case, having three operating systems, including Apple, will make starting easier in the future.

Once this step is completed, I am with this beautiful watch on my wrist. Sober and elegant. With simple and effective features. I chose a screen including heart rate, calories and steps to measure my effort as I walk from my desk to my coffee maker… or harder as I run to catch a breathless train. All this in order to understand pretty quickly that I will have to seriously return to the sport. Sincere thanks to Tag Heuer for this 24/7 health check. Next Saturday, I promise, this is my last raclette!
